Seat padding, mat for seat occupied recognition, control unit

and pressure sensor should only be renewed as one unit. The
components are adapted to each other and should not be
separated!
Only the wiring harnesses described as follows should be
♦
separated!
– Attach seat repair stand -VAS 6136- to engine and gearbox
support -VAS 6095- .
– Remove front seat ⇒ page 260
– Secure seat to seat repair stand -VAS 6136- .
– Remove front belt buckle:
♦ Two-door ⇒ page 98
♦ Four-door ⇒ page 100
– Remove right trim on seat.
♦ Seat with no through-loading function
♦ Seat with through-loading function
– Remove left trim on seat.
♦ Seat with no through-loading function
♦ Seat with through-loading function
– Remove bar and operating lever for front seat
– Remove seat drawer mounting, if part of original equipment

– Disconnect connector -1- of heated front passenger seat con‐
trol unit -J132- , if part of original equipment.
– Remove retaining clip -2-, if fitted.
– Remove retaining clip -3-.
– Disconnect connector -4- and remove connector from seat
frame, if fitted.
– Disconnect connector -5- for side airbag and remove connec‐
tor from seat frame.
– Remove wiring harness clips -6- and disconnect backrest wir‐
ing harness from seat frame.
