– Remove front right bucket seat trim
– Remove front bucket seat backrest
– Remove cover and padding from backrest of front bucket seat

– Unscrew screws -1-.
– Take upper shell of backrest release -2- off backrest shell in
-direction of arrow-.
– Unclip Bowden cable -2- from locking device -arrow A-.
– Remove Bowden cable -2- from locking device -arrow B-.
Note
Carry out following procedures on both sides.
– Drill out rivets -1- on backrest side rail -3-.
– Unscrew bolts -2- (24 Nm) and fold backrest side rail -3- up‐
wards in -direction of arrow-.
Note
The bolts are microencapsulated and must be renewed each

time they are loosened.
Before new bolts are installed, the thread of the corresponding
♦
fitting must be cleaned.
