– Remove centre cover (Golf 2009 ▸)
– Remove the two trim lining mats -2- from the extension -4-.
– Remove lining mat -5- from centre console.
– If fitted, remove "AUX IN socket" -1- ⇒ Communication; Rep.
Gr. 91 ; Removing and installing connection for external audio
sources -R199- .
– Remove the three bolts -3- (1.5 Nm).
– Release extension from mountings.
– Pull extension forwards through opening for handbrake lever.
– Release gearstick insulation -3- from centre console (only ve‐
hicles with a gearstick).
– Remove the two bolts -2- (1.5 Nm).
– Release ashtray unit -1- from centre console and disconnect
wiring harness (dependent on vehicle equipment).
