General
Place a block in front of the exit cover before removing the two stopper screws on the clamshell

hinge. The upright clamshell needs to rest on a block with a height of approximately 50 mm
(2") to prevent damage to the baseplate. (See page 3-80.)

Do not insert anything in the safety switch slot when the upper clamshell is open. you do, acci-
dentally pressing the Start Key will cause the main motor to turn on, and the slider lock ratchet
will be broken.
When the upper clamshell is open, avoid exposing the master unit inside the machine to light.

This copier uses tapping screws.

When the front inner cover is removed make sure that the master release Iever is raised to pre-
vent damaging the interface board.

When installing the studs of upper clamshell, check that torsion bar is installed correctly to pre-
vent damaging clamshell.

When reinstalling the slider to the copier, be careful not to damage
position switch.
Transportation
Fix the slider with tape to prevent the slider from being damaged.

Do not lift the copier by gripping the cassette.
3 .
HandIe the copier by the corners diagonally opposite each other.
4 .
Avoid leaving the machine, separate master unit(s), or toner cartridges in vehicles in the hot
season.
