PAPER FEED AND REGISTRATION

1. Introduction

Relay Rollers
Paper can be fed either automatically from the cassette or manually one sheet at a time. The
capacity of the cassette is about 100 sheets (depending on paper thickness).
To start the paper feed sequence from the cassette, the pick-up roller rotates to drive the top sheet of
paper forward. Only the top sheet moves forward because of the corner separators. When the
paper reaches the turn roller, the pick-up roller rotates out of the way and the turn roller takes over
paper drive.
The turn roller feeds the paper to the feed roller which

2. Manual Paper Feed

When paper is inserted into the manual feed entrance, the paper feed sensor is actuated. At this
time, the Manual Feed indicator on the operation panel lights.
