CRANKSHAFT/
PISTON
CRANKSHAFT INSTALLATION
Install the main bearings into the upper crankcase.
Apply molybdenum disulfide grease to the upper
and lower main bearings.
Install the crankshaft with the cam chain.
PISTON AND ROD INSTALLATION
Clean the piston domes,
nng lands,
and
skirts.
Carefully install the piston rings onto the piston.
Stagger
the ring end gaps as shown.
NOTE:
• Be careful not to damage the piston and
piston rings during assembly.
All
rings
should
be installed
with the
markings facing
up,
