LUBRICATION
OIL
STRAINER
CLEANING
NOTE:
The oil strainer can be removed with the
engine mounted in the
frame.
Remove the front exhaust pipes,
Drain the engine oil
(page
2-3),
Remove the oil pan bolts and oil pan.
Remove and clean the oil strainer.
Check the ope..ation of the
pressure
relief valve,
Make sure the O-ring
is
in good condition when-
ever the relief vallie
is
removed.
Install the oil 51rainar and oil pan.

Install the exhaust
pipes.
Fill
the
crankcase
with the recommended oil (page
2·
1
).
OIL PRESSURE CHECK
Warm the engme up to normal operating temper-
ature (approximatelv
80°C/ 176°
F)
,
Stop the
eniline
and disconnect
Ihe
oil pressure
switch
wire.
Remolle the 011 pressure switch and connect an
oil pressure gauge to the pressure switch
hole
(page
2·5).
Check the oil level.
