    OWNERS MANUAL OVERVIEW MOTO X BIKE PARTS AND ACCESORIES Your new bicycle should arrive in good condition in a carton. Remove all packaging and dispose of responsibly. Once all packaging is removed you can then check that all the components of the bicycle are present. Some components are common to all bicycles but some will depend on which bicycle you have purchased.

    OWNERS MANUAL BEFORE YOU RIDE HANDLEBAR HEIGHT Maximum comfort is usually obtained when the handlebar height is equal to the height of the seat. You may wish to try different heights to find the most comfortable position Over tightening the stem bolt or headset assembly may cause damage to the bicycle and/or injury to the rider. The stem’s “Minimum Insertion” mark must not be visible above the top of the headset.

    OWNERS MANUAL ASSEMBLY GETTING STARTED Remove all cardboard and bubble-wrap and again dispose of in a responsible manner. You should be careful not to scratch the paintwork or otherwise damage your bike during this process. FRONTWHEEL 1.   • Page 13 OWNERS MANUAL ASSEMBLY REFLECTORS Your bicycle is supplied with one front (white), one rear (red), two wheel (white), and two pedal (orange) reflectors. These are an important safety and legal requirement, and should remain securely fitted and in good, clean conditions at all times. Periodically, inspect all reflectors, brackets, and mounting hardware for signs of wear or damage.
  • Page 14 OWNERS MANUAL ASSEMBLY HANDLEBARS Insert the handlebar stem into the head tube ensuring that the minimum insertion mark in not exceeded. The minimum insertion line is clearly marked on the handlebar stem and this should not be visible once the handlebar stem has been inserted. You must ensure that the handlebars are aligned correctly with the front wheel.

Keep the rim and brake shoes clean and free from wax, lubricants and dirt at all times. Determine which type of brake your bike is equipped with and refer to the appropriate assembly instructions. It is important to become familiar with the use of hand brakes.

  • Page 22 OWNERS MANUAL SERVICING THINGS TO CHECK Wheels are secured in the front forks and rear drop outs (where the back wheel attaches to the frame). Wheels are true with the hubs correctly adjusted and free from side play. Both front and rear brakes function correctly and the wheel rims are free from dirt. Steering is free with no excess play.

    OWNERS MANUAL MAINTENANCE TIRE INSPECTION Bicycle tires are available in many designs and specifications, ranging from general purpose designs to tires designed to perform best under very specific weather or terrain conditions. Your bicycle has been equipped with tires which the bike’s manufacturer felt were the best balance of performance and value for the use for which the bike was intended Tires must be maintained properly to ensure road holding and stability.
  • Page 24 OWNERS MANUAL MAINTENANCE CHAIN The chain must be kept clean, rust free and frequently lubricated in order to extend its life as long as possible. It will require replacement if it stretches, breaks. Make sure that there are no stiff links, they must all move freely. LUBRICATION The chain should be lubricated with light oil at least every month, or after use in wet, muddy, or dusty conditions.
