Configuring the AMR Policy Management Settings

The 'AMR Policy Management' page allows you to configure Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR).
The AMR coder contains eight rate options. However, the AMR specification RFC 3267,
does not define the rules for selecting these rates. The device provides a proprietary
definition policy for selecting a rate according to packet loss measurement.
This policy management enables both ends - the device and the remote end (e.g., a
handset) - to negotiate the current AMR rate and current AMR redundancy depth according
to the voice quality of the line.
The voice quality is defined by measuring packet loss. When one side of the call detects
that the packet loss exceeds a user-defined value, it sends (in the field CMR in the AMR
packet) a command to change the current rate. The values of packet loss and Hysteresis
are defined in the 3G specification 44.318.

Table 3-9: DSP Templates Parameters

Determines the DSP template to use on the device. Each DSP
template supports specific coders, channel capacity, and
features.
The default is DSP template 0.
Resource percentage used for the specified template.
For the list of supported DSP templates, refer to the device's Release
Notes.
If you delete all the table entries, the device uses the default DSP
template.
For an explanation on configuring the Web interface's tables, refer to
''Working with Tables'' on page 40.
AMR policy management is applicable only when housing the TP-6310 blade.
