Figure 39: VADB Manual Start Command Results (partial) screen

The Results screen shows this message: Please wait. VADB Manual Start command in
progress... Then it shows: Response Code: Vadb Manual Command Executed.
Note: After you finish verifying VADB functionality (not yet) you must manually stop
VADB operation. Normally VADB operation starts and stops automatically, but if you
manually start VADB, the link remains active until you manually stop it.
4. Check the response code on the VADB Manual Start Command Results page.
The message VadbManualCmdExecuted means the Start Manual VADB command
executed. (For a satellite router, the Gateway ID is always 0.)
(If instead you see the message Vadb Manual Command Not Executed Because Vadb
is Not Supported, this means the router is not configured for VADB. If you see this message,
contact Installer Support.)
5. Verify that the router is in VADB mode and that a VADB connection is active:
a) On the Advanced menu, click Vadb → VADB Client Status.
This opens the VADB Client Status Result screen.
b) Check the User Data Path parameter.
VADB indicates that the router is in VADB mode.
c) Check the VADB Connection State parameter.
Up indicates that a VADB connection is active.
You can also find additional details about VADB status on the VADB Client Status Result
screen—for example, when and why a VADB connection was initiated.
6. If you have verified that a VADB connection is active, proceed to the next step to stop VADB
mode. If you could not verify an active connection, click Vadb → VADB Events List to
see a list of diagnostic events relating to the last few VADB connection attempts, in reverse
chronological order.
If with the diagnostic information you still cannot establish and verify an active VADB
connection, contact Installer Support.
7. Click Stop Manual VADB.
Note: The menu entry Stop Manual VADB is the command to stop VADB mode.
