VADB – Router remains in VADB mode
HN9500 Satellite Router Installation Guide
102
1037736-0001 Revision G
The satellite router switches automatically between normal mode (using the satellite link) and
VADB (phone line backup mode) as conditions require. However, VADB can be manually
activated for test purposes. If VADB is manually activated it remains on indefinitely until it is
manually deactivated. If the router remains in VADB mode and there is no reason to think the
satellite link is down, you may need to deactivate VADB.
You can tell if the router is in VADB mode by looking at the Data Path parameter on the System
Control Center System Status page. VADB (with a red flag) indicates VADB mode. Satellite
Normal means the router is using the satellite link.
To deactivate VADB:
1. Go to the Advanced Pages.
2. Click Vadb on the Advanced Menu.
3. Click Stop Manual VADB.
This command forces the satellite router to close any existing VADB connection, whether
it was manually or automatically initiated.
