ADJUSTING PRINT QUALITY
At sometimeyoumay findthatthequalityof theprintingis not what
youwant. You mayrun testprintsand thenmaketheprintinglighter
or darker,as desired.
Beginby runningan enginetestprint,whichconsistsof a pattcmof
verticallines. Todo this,makesurethereispaperin thepapercassette
and turntheprinteron,if necessary.Nowlookon therighthandside
of theprinterabouthalfwayback. Youwillseea smellhole(Fig.6-2).

Examinethe printed sheet (Fig.

that comesfrom the printer to
determinewhetherthedensityoftheprint(darkorlight)issatisfactory.
Alsobe surethatthe densityis uniformthroughouttheprintedpage.
If you want to adjustthe printdensity,followthis prccedure:
Open theprinter.
Attheleftfrontyouwillseeagreenknurleddial(Fig.6-4),bearing
the odd numbers1 through9.
