CHANGING CHARACTER SET
Ifyouwanttouseacharactersetotherthanthatprovidedatthefactory,
followthisprocedure:
AftergoingOff Lineand pressing[PROGRAM]
Press [NEXT] untilyou see
CHARACTER
Press [ENTER], whichdisplays
FONT
(precededbyprimaryorsecondary, i f theprinteris intheHPLaser
Jet Plus emulation)
"Press [ENTER], whichgives
CHARACTER or SYMBOL SET
dependingon the emulation.
Pressing[ENTER] againpments the variousoptions.
Press [NEXT]untilyou see the desiredone.
Thenpress[ENTER].
Press[ON LINE].
CHANGING FONT AllRIBUTES
Attributesare thosecharacteristics of a typefontthatmakeit distinct
from all others. Theseincludespacingof characters,eitherpropor-
tional or monospaced(uniform);pitch, measuredin charactersper
inch;heightor pointsize;style,eitherupright(reman)oritalic;stroke
weight,bold, medium,or light;and typeface. Typefacesavailable
withtheStarLaserPrinter8 includecourier,helvet,tmsromn,gothic,
script,prestige,caslon,orator,lineprinter,pica, and elite. All these
attributescan be selectedfrom the front panel with the printer in
ProgramMode.
To changefontattributes,taketheprinteroffline and press[PRO-
GRAM], to enter ProgmmMode. Then press llJEXT], so that the
displayreads
