Finally,closethe greenlid. It will not closetightly,but don'tforceit
down.
Youhavethreemoresmallcleaningtaskstoperformbeforeinsertingthe
tonercartridge. First, take a soft, moistenedcloth (notprovided)and
cleanthemetallicplatetowardthefrontof theprinter'sinterior,known
as the transferguide(Fig.2-12).
Justforwardofthetransferguideyouwillseefourthinwires. Theseare
the transfercoronawires,and mustbe cleanedalso,if the printeris to
providea good image. Takethe cottonswab thatcame in the cleaner
packageandgentlycleanthesewires(Fig.2-13).Discardtheusedswab.
The final cleaningtask is with a small wire cleanerstoredinsidethe
printer.Youwillseeitsgreenhandleattheleftcenteroftheinterior(Fig.
2-14).
Insertthebrushin the slotbelowthe transfercoronawiresand slideit
backand forthto cleandirt fromthe dischargingpins (Figs.2-15&2-
16). Be carefulnot to damagethetransfercoronawires. Whenyouare
finished,returnthebrushto its storagespace.
