can changeany of theseby programmingfrom the frontpanel.
Four setsof selected(or default)optionsare listed:
Current-the settings theprinterwillrespondto whenitreceives
a command.
Initial— thesettingsthatwereselectedwhentheprinterwasfirst
turnedon.
Power-up— the settings that are stored in NV RAM (see
Glossary)
Factoryset — the settingsoriginallyselectedat the factoryas
defaultvalues(ROM)
The COMMANDGROUPincludesthesefunctions:
Emulation—theprinterwhosefunctionstheStarLaserPrinter8 is
set to mimic
Numberof Copies— the numberof copies of each page to be
printed
Macro Overlay — whether special instructions are prepro-
grammed.
FFonRotate —whethertheprinterwillissueaformfeedcommand
if theorientation(portraitor landscape) of theprintingis switched
withina page
HexDump— whetherthetextwillbeprintedinASCIIsymbolsor
in hexadecimal
LCDIntensity— howbrightthepanellightsshine
Bell— whetherthe printer'sbell will soundif you need to take
actionduringprinting,suchas a pauseto changefonts
WarningAlarm— whethertherewillbean audiblewarningin case
of a printermalfunction
