frontpanel. Andsomemustbe issuedby thecomputer,fromwithina
program. Some applicationsprogramsallow the user to spxify a
printeror printers,eitherby name or by type. Once the selectionis
made,itbecomespartofthe programfile. Asaresult,printingusually
requiresnothingmorethanissuinga oneor twokeystrokecommand.

four of the mostpopularapplicationsprogramsfor IBM compatible
computers: L otus1-2-3,WordPerfectMicrosoft W ord,andMicrosoft
Windows.TheStarLaserPrinter8 willprintgraphicsas wellaswords
and numbers,emulatingHewlettPackardgraphics,alldensitiesof the
Epsondotmatrixprirtters, a ndtheIBMProprintersemigraphics. I tcan
also be used with the two popular desktop publishingprograms,
