REMOVE
1. Remove parts as shown.
• BALLS (6)
• INNER RACE
I N S T A L L
1. Put a light coat of
recommended grease on
ball grooves of inner and
outer races.
2. Install parts as
shown.
NOTICE; Be sure retain-
ing ring side of inner race
faces axle shaft.
3. Pack joint with
recommended grease.

Remove ball

Brass drift
gently tap on
cage until tilted
enough to remove
first ball.
Remove other balls
in similar manner.

Pivot cage and inner race at 9 0 °
to center line of outer race
with cage windows aligned
with lands of outer race,
lift out cage and mner race

Cut seal retaining clamps.
Remove parts as shown.

RETAINING RING
SPIDER
ASSEMBLY
1. Flush grease from
housing and repack
housing with approx. half
of grease furnished with
new seal.
2. Put remainder of grease
in seal.
Install parts as shown. Use
tool J 35910 to secure seal
retaining clamp. Torque to
specifications.

Slide ring back on axle

N O T I C E : Be sure
spacer ring is seated in
groove at reassembly

Remove from axle shaft
then slide spider
assembly off axle
