Proper operation of the positive crankcase
ventilation (PCV) System is dependent upon a sealed
engine. If oil sludging or dilution is noted, and the
PCV System is functioning properly, check engine for
possible cause and correct to ensure that system will
function as intended.
ON-CAR SERVICE
An engine which is operated without any
crankcase ventilation can be damaged. Therefore, it is
important to replace the PCV valve and air cleaner
breather at intervals shown in Section "OB".
Periodically, inspect the hoses and clamps and
replace any showing signs of deterioration.
