Remote control throttle cable adjustment

(E models)
1. Check:
9 Remote control throttle cable
Bends/damage → Replace.
Excessive slack or the stoppers do not
touch → Adjust.
2. Adjust:
9 Remote control throttle cable
Adjusting steps:
8 Put the remote control lever into the
fully-closed position (all the way back).
8 Loosen the locknut 1.
8 Remove the clip and then remove the
cable adjuster 2 (along with the
remote control throttle cable 3) from
the throttle control cam 4.
8 Move the throttle control cam by hand
until the lower stopper 5 on the throt-
tle control cam contacts the stopper 6
on the throttle control cam bracket.
Then, hold it in this position.
8 Turn the cable adjuster so it aligns
with the pin on the throttle control
cam. Then, reinstall the cable adjuster
(along with the remote control throttle
cable) onto the throttle control cam.

The cable adjuster must be screwed in at
least 8 mm (0.31 in).
8 Install the clip and tighten the locknut.
8 Fully open and close the throttle and
make sure the upper stopper contacts
the bracket stopper (at the fully-open
position) and the lower stopper con-
tacts the bracket stopper (at the fully-
closed position). If proper contact is
not made, repeat the above procedure.
NOTE:
If the remote control throttle cable can-
not be properly adjusted at the engine
side, make adjustments at the remote
control side.
