Power On / Off

To use the machine, turn its power on.
The machine takes approximately 5 minutes to warm up and to be ready to copy or
print. This may take more time depending on your machine configuration.
Switch the power off at the end of the day or when not using the machine for an
extended period of time. Use also the Power Saving feature to save power
consumption while the machine is not in use.
Note
For information on the power saving feature, refer to "Power Saver Mode" (P.19).

Powering On

Follow the step below to switch the power on.

Open the cover and press the power switch
to the [|] position to turn the power on.

Powering Off

Follow the steps below to switch the power off.
Important • Switching the power off may erase the data being processed.

Make sure that the machine is not in operation before switching the power off. Also
make sure that the <Online> indicator is not lit.
Important • Do not switch the power off in the following situations:

Press the power switch to the [ ] position.
Important • If you switch off the machine, it remains on for a while to prepare for shutdown. Do not

• The "Please wait..." message indicates
that the machine is warming up. The
machine cannot be used when the
message is displayed.
- While data is being received
- While data is being sent (FTP/SMB/e-mail)
- While a job is being printed.
- While a job is being copied
- While a job is being scanned
- While data is being imported from a computer
unplug the power cord from the power outlet immediately after switching the power off.
• If switching the power on right after switching it off, make sure that the display and the <Job
in Memory> indicator have gone out.
