PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Observe th e follow ing items without fail when disasse mbling and rea sse mbling motorcycles.
o Do not run eng ine with little o r no ven til atio n .
o Be sure to repl ace pa cking s, gaskets. circlips. O-rings and cotter pins wi th new ones .
CAUTION :
Never reuse a circlip . After a eire lip has been removed from a shaft.

should be discarded and a
new circlip must be installed .
When installing a new circlip , cafe must be taken not to expand the end gap larger than required
to slip the eire lip over the shaft.
After installing a c irclip , always insure that it is completely s eated in its groove and securely fitted .
o Tighten bolts and nuts from the ones of larger diameter to th ose o f smal ler diameter. an d from
in side to outside diagona lly, to th e specifi ed tightening torque.

Use special tools w here specified .
a Use specified genuine parts and recomm end ed oils.
o When m ore th an 2 person s perform work together. pay attention to the safety of each other.
o After the reasse mbly, c heck parts for ti gh teness and operation.
o Treat gasolin e. w hich is extremely flammabl e and hig hl y expl osive. with greatest c are. Never use
gasoline as cleaning solvent .

REPLACEMENT PARTS
When yo u rep lace any parts, use only genuine SUZU KI
replacement parts, or their equivalent. Genuine SUZUKI parts
are high quality parts which are designed and built specifi -
cally for SUZUKI vehicles.
CAUTION :
Use of replacement parts which are not equivalent in Quali-
ty to genuine SUZUKI parts can lead to performance
problems and damage .
