rry out the
following
steps:
CAUTION
:
W ash
the
caliper
c om ponents
with fre sh brak
e
fluid
before
reasse
mbly.
Nev er
use cleaning
solvent or
gasoline
to w ash them
.
A
p
ply brake fluid to
the ca
liper bore and piston to
be
in
se
rt
-
ed into the bo re
.
Reassemble
and remount
the
caliper.

:

MASTER CYLINDER REMOVAL AND
DISASSEMBLY
Remove
th
e brake
lever cover and
brake
lever
by
rem ov-
ing
the
m
ount
ing bolt and nut.
NOTE:
Wh en removing
the brake lever, do
not
lose the
spring.
Place a c
lot
h undermea th the u
nion bolt on
the
m aster
c
ylinder
to
cat ch
spilled drops
of
b rake
fl
uid
,
Un
screw
the un ion bolt
and disconnect th
e brake
hose/m aster
cylind
er
joint.
CAUTION
:
Complet ely
wipe
off
any
brake fluid adh erin
g
to any part of
motorcycle.
The
fluid react
s c
hemicall
y
with
paint.

stics.
rub ber

aterials.
etc.
Remove the
m aster
c
ylinder
.
