3-5 Overview of IPX printing to the Fiery SI
The table below summarizes what you have to do to configure two IPX connections
for printing to the Fiery SI. You can use it as a checklist for configuring additional con-
nections.
Abbreviations:
PS=print server
FS=file server
PQ=print queue (on the Novell server)
Q=a color server connection (Direct connection, Print queue or Hold queue))
On NetWare FS
In PCONSOLE:
Select NetWare FS 1
Configure PS 1
Configure PQ1
In PCONSOLE:
Select NetWare FS 2
Configure PS 2
Configure PQ2
7. After you complete Fiery SI Setup and restart the Fiery SI, you are ready to set up cli-
ent workstations to print to the Fiery SI (see page 3-13).
On Fiery SI Control Panel
Network Setup
Enable IPX (Novell)
Set Frame Type
Add FS 1
Select PS 1
Set Poll Interval
Printer Setup
Publish Q
Attach IPX FS 1
Select Connection for FS 1
Network Setup
Add FS 2
Select PS 2
Set Poll Interval
Printer Setup
Publish Q
Attach IPX FS 2
Select Connection for FS 2
On client workstation
Install user software.
For printing:
Connect to PQ(s) that you
set up on your NetWare file
server and attached to a
Fiery SI Q in Printer Setup.
For running Fiery SI utilities:
Edit NET_WSCK.INI and
install it.
