The printer has four modes of operation:
On-Line Mode

Power Saver Mode

On-Line Mode
On-Line is the printer's normal operating mode. In this mode, the printer is on line,
under the control of the System Controller Board, and ready to generate output. The
On-Line Mode occurs automatically when the printer is powered ON.
If the printer goes out of the On-Line Mode during operation, it may be restored to on
line by pressing the On-Line button [0] on the Control Panel.
When the printer is on line, the "On Line" LED is illuminated steadily, indicating data
reception, transmission, analysis and printing are allowed. When the "On Line" LED
is blinking, the printer is receiving or processing data, or printing.
Power Saver
The printer employs a Power Saver Mode to reduce power consumption by lowering
the temperature of the fuser. If no data is received, or no Control Panel operation is
performed within a period of time (either printer default or set by the user), the printer
enters the power saving state.
The Power Saver Mode interval can be set from the System Menu (in Menu Mode)
and can be preset to Off, 15, 30, 60, 90, 120 or 180 minutes.
When the printer is in the power saving state, it takes longer to start printing the first
page, because it can take up to 30 seconds to warm up the fuser.
