To identify unused mailboxes, run the Inactive User Report. As system
administrator, you should make sure that all unused mailboxes are deleted to
minimize storage used and eliminate potential targets for hackers. Any distribution
lists that reference these unused mailboxes should be updated. See "General
Administration" in the Meridian Mail System Administration Reference Manual
(NTPs 555-7001-301, 555-7001-307, or 557-7001-302) for more information on
volume management.
When text usage of VS1 exceeds 85% of capacity, do the following:
• Review the retention of OM data on the OM Options screen. You can reduce the
OM settings down to the minimum specified in Chapter 3, "Installing MMR."
• If the text capacity continues to grow, your nightly audit may not be running to
completion. Run the SEER Query report with class=11, and ensure that the
audits are completing successfully.
