The report can be sorted by Mailbox or Date/Time. The default sort order is by
Mailbox, then Date/Time.
Analysis and Corrective Actions
Check the security settings for the mailbox to see if Mailbox Extension Dialing or
Revert DN features allow toll calls. If toll calls can be made and there are frequent
logons of short duration, this indicates that hackers are using the mailbox to gain
access to its thru-dialer to make unauthorized toll calls. Change the password
immediately. Call the mailbox owner to determine if he or she has been generating
the after-hours logons. If not, force a password change for the mailbox to prevent
further mailbox abuse.
To review logons during business hours, run the Session Trace Utility on Meridian
Mail for the mailboxes and time interval of interest. Also, run the Mailbox Session
Analysis Report (see Chapter 8, "Voice Mail Reports," for information on this
report).
Note: The download should be scheduled after 12:00 midnight in order to allow
OM data for the previous day to be collected. For example, if you are running a
multi-site configuration, make sure that all downloads from remote sites are started
after 12:00 midnight their time.
