Naming convention for the export files / backup files
● Export methods 1-4:
<Year><Month><Day>_<Time>_<Archive name>
Example: 091224_183059_Archiving_004
● Data backup:
sav_<Year><Month><Day>_<Time>_<Archive name>
Example: sav_091224_183059_Archiving_004
Export file redundancy
There are two backup paths (engineering tool) and two export paths (specified separately in
the group archive for each group). The exported export / backup files (csv format) are copied
to both paths.
OS server redundancy
In a redundant server pair, data backup is only executed from the master currently active. The
two backup paths mean that redundant data backup is guaranteed in any case.
Error during export
Error messages are output if errors occur during export. If an export method "With deletion"
has been selected, data are only deleted if at least one of the two export files (if both export
paths are being used) has been correctly saved at the export path.
If data has only been successfully copied to one of the two export paths, the export file is also
saved in the "Engineeringtools\ua_tmp" subfolder of the project directory.
If errors occur during copying to both export paths, the temporary export file in the project
directory is deleted and error messages are generated. The archive to be exported is
unchanged. It is reset to its original state before export.
8.2.3

Data backup

While export is specifically for the archive management user archives, the engineering tool
can generate corresponding backup scripts for all APF modules. These scripts save the
content of one or more archives in csv files without deleting the data records from the archive.
The data backup is described in the section Data backup of the user archives (Page 249).
