Parameter management
6.1 FB_XXXPA
Mode
The "FB_XXXPA" block can operate in normal or in multiplexer mode. The mode is set at the
"MODE" input parameter.
● In normal mode, the block performs the following functions:
● Reading a parameter data record from the parameter set archive and providing the data at
the outputs
● Recalculating the parameter values on request:
– Writing the parameter data record to the calculation archive
– Recalculating
– Reading the newly calculated parameter data record back from the calculation archive
In multiplexer mode, the block performs the following functions:
● Providing parameter set data for the activated job:
– Copying parameter set data from the corresponding parameter set block when a job is
– Providing the data at the outputs
– Resetting the parameter set block (making it available for creating other jobs)
The following table shows the configuration options for the "MODE" input parameter:
Bit 0
Bit 1
Bit 2
Bit 3
Normalization/recalculation
You can use the APF Engineering Tool to specify whether normalization/recalculation is to be
performed for each attribute of a parameter group. This is done using the "Norm" value:
● "Norm" = 0: No normalization/recalculation
● "Norm" = 1: Normalization/recalculation is performed according to the equations of the
following functions:
– FB_CalcValueByNormPM.fct
– FB_ReCalcValueByNormPM.fct
● "Norm" > 1: The normalization/recalculation is performed according to user-defined
equations. The "FB_CalcValueByNormPM.fct" and "FB_ReCalcValueByNormPM.fct"
functions must be extended appropriately for this. The equations for "Norm" = 0 / 1 must
not be changed.

MODE
0 = Normal mode, 1 = Multiplexer mode
Upon data request in normal mode:
Data record at block output 0 = Do not delete 1 = Delete
Upon data request in multiplexer mode:
0 = No "RESET" at data source; 1 = "RESET" at data source;
In multiplexer mode:
0 = No release for recalculation; 1 = Release for recalculation;
