- Using a gauge, measure the height of the cams.

Maximum axial clearance allowed:
- If values measured are not within the specified
limits or there are signs of excessive wear, replace
the defective components with new ones.
- Check that the groove, shown in the figure, that
is the retention plate seat, exhibits no wear.
