The KEYLESS-GO button is located on the
dashboard between the steering column
and the centre console.

Depress the brake pedal
Press KEYLESS GO button 1 once.
The engine starts automatically.
Pulling away
!
Reverse gear may only be selected when the
vehicle is stationary, otherwise the transmission
will be damaged. Do not drive at high engine
speeds until the engine has warmed up. This will
protect the engine.

The vehicle will lock itself centrally once you
have pulled away. The locking knobs in the doors
drop down. You can open the doors from the in-
side at any time.
You can also switch off the automatic door lock
( page 189).
Depress the brake pedal and hold it
down.
Move the transmission selector lever to
position D or R.

Wait for the shift process to complete be-
fore pulling away.
Release the brake pedal.
Carefully depress the accelerator ped-
al.
The parking brake is released automat-
ically ( page 254).
The red ! indicator lamp in the in-
strument cluster goes out.

Upshifts take place at higher engine speeds
after a cold start. This helps the catalytic con-
verter to reach its operating temperature more
quickly.

1 To indicate a right turn
2 To indicate a left turn
Push the combination switch in the di-
rection of arrow 1 or 2.
The combination switch returns to its
original position automatically after
large steering movements.

Briefly press the combination switch in the
appropriate direction to signal a minor change in
direction. The appropriate turn signal will flash
three times.
