Possible cause/consequence
currently unavailable Distronic Plus* is deactivated and is
See Owner's Manual temporarily not operational.
Distronic Plus* is deactivated if:
the Distronic Plus* cover in the ra-
diator grille is dirty
its radar sensor system is tempo-
rarily unavailable, e.g. due to elec-
tromagnetic radiation
its function is impaired as a result
of heavy precipitation or fog
there is an undervoltage in the
ADAPTIVE BRAKE
You attempted to activate
Distronic Plus* even though you have
deactivated the radar sensor system
on the vehicle using the instrument
cluster operating system.
inoperative Distronic Plus* is faulty.

Possible solution
Clean the Distronic Plus* cover in the ra-
diator grille ( page 375).
Restart the vehicle.
Distronic Plus* will be operational again with-
out you needing to restart the engine if:
the dirt (e.g. slush) loosens while you are
driving
the system detects that the sensors are
fully available again
the message in the driver's display disap-
pears
You can operate Distronic Plus* again in the
usual way.
Check whether it is possible to activate
the radar sensor system ( page 215).
Activate the radar sensor system using
the instrument cluster operating system.
Have Distronic Plus* checked at a quali-
fied specialist workshop.
