Windows misted up
Windows misted up on the inside
Make sure that the AC
COMAND is switched off ( page 193).
Make sure that air-recirculation mode
is switched off ( page 309).
Make sure that automatic mode is
switched on ( page 308).
If the windows are still misted up:
To switch on demisting: press the
P rocker switch up or down.

You should only select this setting until the
windscreen is cleared again.

Switch on the windscreen wipers
( page 248).
Make sure that automatic mode is
switched on ( page 308).
Rear window heating
The rear window heating switches itself
off automatically after a certain time. The
OFF
function in heating time depends on the outside tem-
perature and the driving conditions.

Risk of accident
Clear all windows of ice or snow before set-
ting off. Impaired visibility could otherwise
endanger yourself and others.

The rear window heating has a high current
draw. You should therefore switch off the heat-
ing as soon as the rear window is clear.
To switch on: make sure that the igni-
tion is switched on.
Press the F rocker switch up or
down ( page 304).
The indicator lamp in the rocker switch
comes on.
To switch off: press the F rocker
switch up or down ( page 304).
The indicator lamp in the rocker switch
goes out.

If the battery supply voltage is too low, the
rear window heating may switch off. The indica-
tor lamp in the rocker switch then goes out.

Automatic air conditioning

Air-recirculation mode

You can switch off the flow of fresh air if
unpleasant smells are entering the vehicle
from outside. No more fresh air will be tak-
en in and the air inside the vehicle will be
recirculated.

Risk of accident
Only switch over to air-recirculation mode
briefly if the outside temperature is below
5 °C. Otherwise, the windows could mist up,
thus impairing visibility and endangering you
and others. This may prevent you from ob-
serving the traffic conditions, thereby caus-
ing an accident.
To switch on or off: press the ,
rocker switch up or down.
The indicator lamp in the rocker switch
comes on or goes out.
