(5) The coil ground terminal (85) is connected to
the electromagnet in the relay. On vehicles with an
automatic transmission, it is grounded through the
park/neutral position switch. On vehicles with a
manual transmission, it is grounded at all times.
Check for continuity to ground at cavity for relay ter­
minal 85. If not OK and vehicle has manual trans­
mission, repair circuit as required. If not OK and
vehicle has automatic transmission, refer to Group
21 - Transmission and Transfer Case for testing and
service of the park/neutral position switch.
IGNITION SWITCH TEST

and service of this component.
PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH TEST
Refer to Group 21 - Transmission and Transfer
Case for testing and service of this component.
CLUTCH PEiAL POSITION SWITCH TEST
