Where/how to check
•Check the printing
density setting of the
control circuit module.
•Check if the specified
paper is used.
See or check the head
heating elements with
a magnifier.
Check whether the
paper has
deteriorated.
Check the surface of
the thermal head with
a magnifier.
See or check with a
magnifier the platen
surface.
Check with an oscillo-
scope if the input pulse
is within the specified
range.
Check whether paper
chips or foreign matter
is inside the paper
guide.
Check if the detector
operates properly.
Check if the paper
edge is cut properly.
Procedure
Change the setting
of the printing
density to darken.
Clean the head
heating elements if
foreign matter is
attached to the
elements.
Replace the
deteriorated paper.
Replace the thermal
head.
Replace the platen
if the platen surface
is damaged or
deformed.
If the input pulse is
abnormal, replace
the control circuit
board.
If input pulse is
normal, replace the
thermal head.
Remove paper
chips or foreign
matter if there is
any.
•Remove paper
chip or foreign
matter if there is
any.
•Replace the
detector if it is
damaged.
Cut the paper edge
properly.
