Sensor Overview

For your safety, the sensor is packaged in a sterile sealed pouch or tray, containing an
applicator, sensor pod, and sensor wire. When you first open the package, your sensor looks
like one item, however it is actually three: sensor applicator barrel, sensor pod, and sensor wire.
The applicator barrel helps you insert the sensor wire inside the sensor pod under your skin.
After inserting the sensor wire, remove the applicator barrel. The sensor wire is in the sensor
pod stays, with the pod attached to your skin by adhesive.
The sensor wire is made of silver and platinum with polymer membranes. Once inserted, the
thin and flexible wire measures your glucose levels in the fluid between your cells (interstitial
fluid) for up to seven days.
