To install SFP and SFP+ transceivers in slots 27 and 28 of the 28-port
switches and slots 51 and 52 of the 52-port switches, perform the following
procedure:
1. Remove the dust plug from a transceiver slot on the switch.
Figure 72 shows the dust plug being removed from port 25 on the AT-
x510-28GTX Switch.

2. Remove the transceiver from its shipping container and store the
packaging material in a safe location.
3. If you are installing the transceiver in a top slot, position the
transceiver with the Allied Telesis label facing up. If you are installing
the transceiver in a bottom slot, position the transceiver with the label
facing down.
4. Slide the transceiver into the slot until it clicks into place, as shown in
Figure 73 on page 121.
