BATTERY INSPECTION

BATTERY INSPECTION
1. Remove:
Refer to the "COWLING REMOVAL AN
INSTALLATION - REMOVAL" section.
2. Inspect:
Fluid level @ should be between upper 0
and lower @ marks.
Incorrect+ Refill.
Refill with distilles water only; tap water con
tains minerals harmful to a battery.
3. Connect:
Breather pipe (Battery) @
??
Be sure the hose is properly attached ant
routed.
4. Inspect:
*Breather pipe (Battery) @
Obstruction --f Reroute.
Damage + Replace.
When inspecting the battery, be sure the breather
pipe is routed correctly. If the breather pipe
touches the frame or exits in such a way as to
cause battery electrolyte or gas to exit onto the
frame, structural and cosmetic damage to the
motorcycle can occur.

5. Check:
Less than 1.280 --f Recharge battery.
