STEERING HEAD INSPECTION AD
6. Remove:
Lock washer @

*Washer @
7. Remove:
Front fork
??
Refer to the "FRONT FORK - REMO-
VAL" section in the CHAPTER 7
8. Tighten:
Ring nuts (Lower and upper)

Ring nuts tightening steps:
NOTE:
Set the Torque Wrench to the Ring Nut
Wrench so that they form a right angle.
Install the ring nut (Lower) @ .
??
NOTE:
The tapered side of ring nut must faced down-
ward.
??
Tighten the ring nut @ using the Ring Nut
Wrench.
Ring Nut Wrench:
Ring Nut @ (Initial Tightening):
Loosen the ring nut @ completely and
??
retighten it to specification.
Do not over-tightening.
Ring Nut @ (Final Tightening) :
NOTE:
Recheck the steering head by turning the
steering from lock to lock, after adjusting
steering head.
