INSPECTION AND REPAIR

STARTER CLUTCH

1. Check:
Roller operation
??
Push the roller to arrow direction.
Unsmooth operation + Replace starter
clutch.
2. Inspect:
Burrs/Chips/Roughness/Wear -+ Replace.
3. Inspect:
Contacting surfaces
??
Pitting/Wear/Damage -+ Replace.
4. Check :
Starter clutch operation
??
Clutch operation checking steps:
Install the starter clutch gear to the starter
??
clutch, and hold the starter clutch.
When turning the starter clutch gear clock-
??
wise the starter clutch and the wheel gear
should be engaged.
If not, the starter clutch is faulty. Replace
it.
When turning the starter clutch gear counter-
??
clockwise, the starter clutch gear should
turn freely.
If not, the starter clutch is faulty. Replace it.
