Confirm that the sample is to be saved using F10 Exec or cancel the procedure using F5 Escape.
Upon completion the SD1 returns to the initial page of the sampler to record new sounds or to modify those that already exist.

THE SAMPLER FUNCTIONS

The initial page of the Sampler MPS menu shows the sampling time in seconds that is selected using F2 Time (Sec). The functions available
are called up using the function push buttons.
F1 Load:
This calls up a page that shows the list of audio files that can be loaded in the sampler for further modifications. If Master
Folder is enabled the reference Folder is 94 and only this folder can be used to manage the files. With Master Folder disabled
the Folders that are not correlated to Master Folder can be selecting by entering the number using the numeric keypad (STYLES
push buttons). The list of files is shown in the middle of the display with the number assigned automatically by the SD1. To
select the file to be loaded use the VALUE +/- and CURSOR +/- push buttons (when more than one page of files is available).
You can switch from hard disk to floppy disk using the PAGE +/- push buttons. The functions available are the following:
F1 Dir: This shows the list of all the audio files stored in the Folder currently in use.
F2 Load: This loads the file selected in RAM.
F5 Escape: This returns to the initial page of the Sampler MSP.
To play the sample loaded simply use the keyboard. Be careful not to press F10 Start as this starts the registration and is
not used to play the sample back.
F2 Time (Sec):
This is used to set the length in seconds of the sample to be recorded using the VALUE +/- push buttons.
F3 Trigger:
Using the VALUE +/- push buttons you can indicate an audio signal threshold beyond which the sampler, after having pressed
F10 START, automatically enables the registration. Lower the value, more sensitive the sampler is to the amplitude of the
audio signal. It is not always convenient to keep high trigger values as you could loose the registration of the attack phase
of the sound. It is therefore advisable to leave this value low and then cut the initial sample portion without a useful signal.
F4 MSP Edit:
This calls up the page used to modify the Multi-sample, which will be dealt with further on.
F5 MSP New:
This calls up the page used to create a Multi-sample, which will be dealt with further on.
F6 View:
This calls up the page used to edit the loop and the display of the sampled wave shape.
F7 Pitch:
By pressing function button F7 repeatedly you can choose the intonation mode of the sample. Standard assigns a normal
chord to the sample right along the whole keyboard, by setting the original note using F8 Key, Fixed keeps the intonation of
the sample constant, the same as it is recorded or it is transposed by a value that is established using F8 Tune. Sync is used
to enable the sample to be used with the Styles or the Midi files. The beat number of the sample to be used in Sync must
always be defined using F8 Bar, as the SD1 deduces the original Tempo value of the loop from this value.
F8:
This has different functions depending on the F7 Pitch condition.
F7 Pitch Standard: F8 Key is used to establish the note to which the transposition of the sample right along the key-
board will refer. This note is entered using the VALUE +/- push buttons or by playing it on the keyboard.
F7 Pitch Fixed: F8 Tune establishes the transposition to be applied to the sample according to the value entered
using the VALUE +/- push buttons.
F7 Pitch Sync: F8 Bar this is used to establish the number of beats that make up the loop. The tempo thus calcu-
lated is shown on the display. The values are selected by repeatedly pressing the function push button F8.
F9 Fine:
If F7 Pitch is set on Standard, this parameter is used to modify the fine tuning in steps of one single cent for a total of 99
(one semitone) using the VALUE +/- push buttons.
F10 Start:
This enables the registration of the sample that ends at the end of the time set using F2 Time. By pressing F10 Start the
sample possibly loaded is cancelled, without warning, and is replaced by the new registration.

EDITING THE LOOP

The loop is a portion of sample defined by a starting point and an ending point that is repeated automatically until you stop playing the note.
