Checks
Is the black toner cartridge set in the
printer unit properly?
Is the black toner cartridge switch
lever of the printer unit
damaged/deformed? Is the lever dis-
placed?
Is the boss of the black toner car-
tridge deformed/damaged?
Are the connector J227 on the DC
controller PCB and connector J647
on the main relay PCB connected
securely?
Is there electrical continuity between
connectors J644-1 (PBK) and J644-
2 (PMP) on the main relay PCB
when the black toner cartridge
switch (SW644) is turned on?
Checks
Are the connector J226 on the DC
control PCB and connector J5001
on the high-voltage PCB 1 connect-
ed securely?
Are the contact of the black toner
cartridge (for toner level detection)
and the contact of the printer side
toner level detection deformed/dam-
aged?

NO Set the cartridge prop-
erly, and turn off and
on the power.
YES Replace the lever, or
position it correctly.
YES Replace the black toner
cartridge.
NO Connect the connec-
tors securely.
NO Replace the black toner
cartridge switch
(SW644).
YES Replace the DC con-
troller PCB.
Yes/No Action
YES Connect the connec-
tors securely, and turn
off and then on the
power.
YES Replace the problem
part. (If the problem
part is on the black
toner cartridge side,
replace the black toner
cartridge.)
NO Replace the DC con-
