If necessary, remove the five screws that secure the assembly to the
front of the drawer.
Pull the entire assembly back away from the front panel and gently lift

it out of the drawer. Be careful not to damage any components on the
assembly itself or around the cooling fans behind it as you remove it.

Place the assembly on a static free surface.
Removing the 5.25-inch Device
The drawer has only one 5.25-inch drive bay. This bay normally contains a
CD-ROM drive. If you want to replace the CD-ROM drive with another
device, you must first remove the existing CD-ROM drive.
Removing the 5.25-inch Device
Turn the system power off.

Open the system by removing the top cover.
Remove the drive bay assembly. See "Removing the Drive Bay

Assembly" on page 52.
Press the tabs on the front end of the drive rails in toward the center of

the drive and pull the drive from the drive bay assembly.
