    Introduction Congratulations on your purchase of the ALR 7200R. With the arrival of your new system, you are probably eager to install your system and have it operating. Installation Requirements The ALR 7200R system drawer is designed for an office environment and allows for floor-level entry of all cables through the opening in the bottom of the cabinet.

    The retention clips should go toward the rear of the cabinet. If the mounting rails have not previously been installed, position the drawer template (P/N 65770050-00) in the cabinet so that the side matches the corresponding side you wish to install. Gateway ALR 7200R User’s Guide Supplement...
  • Page 17 Mark the screw hole locations onto the vertical mounting strips in the cabinet as shown on the template. The marks will locate the mounting holes of the rail brackets and front panel. Attach the front bracket to the front cabinet vertical mounting strip using two screws as marked.

    The system drawer is heavy and awkward. To avoid possible injury or damage to the system, get some help when lifting it into place, aligning the rails and installing it into the cabinet. Gateway ALR 7200R User’s Guide Supplement...
  • Page 19 Press the cabinet mounting rails towards the center of the cabinet while inserting the side rails on the system drawer into the cabinet mounting rails. Push the system drawer evenly into the cabinet until the latches on the drawer rails lock. Press the latches on both sides of the system drawer and push the drawer back until the front panel touches the vertical mounting rails.

    Connecting the System Drawer Connecting Peripherals Power off all drawers and devices in the cabinet before attaching any of the system drawer cables. Verify that the system drawer power switch is OFF as well. If you plan on setting up the system drawer to control other drawers in the cabinet, connect external data cable(s) of their corresponding controller card(s) to the device(s) to be controlled.

    Shutting Down the System Halt, stop, or cancel any active processes or tasks being performed by the operating system of the system drawer being shut down. If appropriate, issue a "flush" command to write the contents of any caches or buffers to disk. If appropriate, issue a command to exit or quit the operating system.

    Leave enough slack in the cables to allow them to flex when the drawer is pulled out. Check the cables for tight spots while the drawer is being pulled forward and pushed back into place. Check for stress points especially at the bends in the cable retractor and where the cable retractor is mounted to the vertical mounting rail.
