12. Thoroughly clean and/or replace all bearings, nuts, washers, and bushings.
NOTE: Both the left and right side bushings and thrust bearings should be
replaced as a set.
13. Assemble in reverse order.
14. Pack the thrust bearing with grease.
15. Tighten the king pin nut until there is 0.005"
clearance between the top of the thrust bearing and
the upper arm of the axle beam.
NOTE: Refer to
Bearings
proper tightening of the spindle nut.
16. Install new cotter pins.
17. Realign the wheels.
NOTE: Refer to the
information regarding realignment of the front wheels.
18. Lower the vehicle.
19. Reconnect the main battery connector.
20. Remove the blocks from behind the wheels.
21. Release the park brake and test drive the vehicle.
