9.6.2 For Windows 2000 Server

• Windows 2000 Server CD-ROM
• Windows 2000 Server system recovery disk (created beforehand)

Insert the Windows 2000 Server CD-ROM after turning on the server.
Check that there is not already a floppy disk inserted in the floppy disk drive at this time.

On the "Welcome to Setup" window of the Windows 2000 Server setup, press
the [R] key and select restoration.

Follow the messages on the setup window to restore the system.
Notes on system restoration
When the system is restored, some information may be restored to the newly installed state. It is
necessary to reset after system restoration.
If the damage to the system file or system information is severe, reinstalling Windows 2000 Server
may be required. In this case, refer to "9.7 Reinstalling the OS" ( pg.272) and perform reinstallation.
The [File ******.*** is not the source file copied during Windows 2000 installation] message is displayed
during file restoration. In this case, press the [Enter] key or [A] key to restore the file.
