address compare inactive. You can cancel an address
compare simply by typing a non-hexadecimal character in
the first digit location.
This function has some limitations:
It
is only an instruction compare stop and not a data
compare stop.
The address entered must be the address of the start of
the instruction. Entering an address in the middle of an
instruction could cause the program to have
unpredictable results.
It
only works with addresses in real 370 storage (as
opposed to virtual addresses).
AL T F6 Keys - Program Reset
If
you simultaneously press the Alternate key and the F6
key, you cause a Program Reset to occur to the 370
processor (see Program Reset in "370 Principles of
Operations"). The processor is in the "STOPPED" state at
the end of this operation.
AL T F7 Keys - Clear Reset
If
you simultaneously press the Alternate key and the F7
key, you cause a Clear Reset to occur to the 370 processor
(see Clear Reset in "370 Principles of Operations"). This
clears main storage. The processor is in the "STOPPED"
state at the end of this operation.
AL T F8 Keys - External Interrupt
If
you simultaneously press the Alternate key and the F8
key, you cause an External Interrupt to occur to the 370
processor (see External Interrupt in "370 Principles of
Operations").
