About the Postage by Phone System

The Postage by Phone System allows you to obtain postage funds
for your DM300c/DM400c/DM475 series without leaving your office
- all you need is a LAN (Local Area Network) connection or an
analogue phone line.

How does the system operate?

The system consists of a central computer situated in our Data
Centre which holds details of the funds available in your Postage by
Phone account. Your DM300c/DM400c/DM475 series communicates
with the Data Centre and transfers funds from your Postage by
Phone account into your meter.

When can I refill my meter or check my account balance?

In the Republic of Ireland and the UK auto-refill is available from
7:00am to 8:00pm Monday to Saturday, including Bank Holidays.

Preparing to Refill with Postage

Adding postage funds to your system is fast, easy and convenient.
Your system must be connected to a LAN or an analogue phone line
as described on the following pages.
Important: For printing postage, the DM300c/DM400c/ DM475
series does not have to be connected. However if you add funds
frequently, we recommend you keep the meter connected to your
LAN or an analogue phone line.

Phone or LAN Connection?

Your Mailing System can connect to Pitney Bowes systems via an
Ethernet or LAN port instead of an analogue modem. To do this, you
will need the DM IntelliLink™ Constant Connection Kit.
You will obtain much quicker connection speeds when your Mailing
System connects to Pitney Bowes for services such as; Postage by
Phone, System Updates, Features On Demand, Electronic Postal
Inspection and Data Centre Information Exchange.
In addition, because your Mailing System will be connected to your
network, you'll no longer need a dedicated analogue phone line for
it. This means that if you're paying line rental for a single analogue
phone line solely for the Mailing System you will no longer need it.
