Default Configuration
Filtering multicast addresses is disabled. All multicast addresses are flooded to all ports.

User Guidelines
If multicast devices exist on the VLAN, do not change the unregistered multicast addresses state to drop on the
switch ports.
If multicast devices exist on the VLAN and IGMP-snooping is not enabled, the bridge multicast forward-all
command should be used to enable forwarding all multicast packets to the multicast switches.
Example
In this example, bridge multicast filtering is enabled.

bridge multicast address

The bridge multicast address Interface Configuration (VLAN) mode command registers a MAC-layer multicast
address in the bridge table and statically adds ports to the group. To unregister the MAC address, use the no form
of this command.
Syntax
bridge multicast address {mac-multicast-address | ip-multicast-address}
bridge multicast address {mac-multicast-address | ip-multicast-address} [add | remove] {ethernet interface-list
| port-channel port-channel-number-list}
no bridge multicast address {mac-multicast-address | ip-multicast-address}
Parameters
add — Adds ports to the group. If no option is specified, this is the default option.
remove — Removes ports from the group.
mac-multicast-address — A valid MAC multicast address.
ip- multicast-address — A valid IP multicast address.
interface-list — Separate nonconsecutive Ethernet ports with a comma and no spaces; a hyphen is used to
designate a range of ports.
port-channel-number-list — Separate nonconsecutive port-channels with a comma and no spaces; a hyphen
is used to designate a range of ports.
Default Configuration
No multicast addresses are defined.
