Examples
The following example enables 802.1X authentication on Ethernet port 1/e16.
Console(config)# interface ethernet 1/e16
Console(config-if)# dot1x port-control auto

dot1x re-authentication

The dot1x re-authentication Interface Configuration mode command enables periodic re-authentication of the
client. To return to the default configuration, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
dot1x re-authentication
no dot1x re-authentication
Default Configuration
Periodic re-authentication is disabled.

User Guidelines
There are no user guidelines for this command.
Examples
The following example enables periodic re-authentication of the client.

dot1x timeout re-authperiod

The dot1x timeout re-authperiod Interface Configuration mode command sets the number of seconds between
re-authentication attempts. To return to the default configuration, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
dot1x timeout re-authperiod seconds
no dot1x timeout re-authperiod
Parameters
seconds — Number of seconds between re-authentication attempts. (Range: 300 - 4294967295)
Default Configuration
Re-authentication period is 3600 seconds.
