AutoDome Easy IP
Option
Description
I/P-frame
This setting allows you to adjust the image quality of the I/P-
Quality
frames depending on the movement within the image. The Auto
option automatically adjusts to the optimum relationship
between movement and image definition (focus). Selecting
Manual allows you to set a value between 9 and 51 on a slide bar.
The value 4 represents the best quality with, if necessary, a lower
frame refresh rate depending on the settings for the maximum
data rate. A value of 31 results in a very high refresh rate and
lower image quality.
Code mod This setting allows the user to choose between Field coding and
Frame coding. When Field coding is selected, the fields of
interlaced video like 4CIF/D1 are encoded separately. This
generally leads to a better image quality.
When Frame coding is selected, the two fields of interlaced video
are merged together and then encoded as a single frame. This
generally leads to deinterlacing artifacts for moving objects and
therefore to lower image quality.
Progressive video formats like 2CIF and CIF are always encoded
in frame mode independent of the value of this setting. It is
therefore recommended to always enable field coding.
Note: some video decoders such as VLC media player do not
support field encoded video. In this case, Frame coding should
be selected if you want to connect to these players via RTSP.
Deblocking
The deblocking filter can be activated to avoid/eliminate block
filter
artifacts in the image at low data rates. This leads to a better
visual image quality at low data rates. At high data rates,
however, activated deblocking filters might lead to a slightly
lower image quality (reduced sharpness) under certain
circumstances. It is recommended to use the debocking filters at
low data rates.
